Not only is porcelain tile more dense than ceramic tile, but due to its through-body composition, it is considered more durable and better suited for heavy usage than ceramic tile.

Cleaning:
Like vinyl tile can be placed in wet areas, so get out the trusty ol’ mop and bucket and wipe it down! Some tile can also be professionally stripped and waxed for that brand new look.

Easy to clean:
Easy to clean. Just use a vacuum or broom. Mop with a slightly damp mop or better yet, laminate floor cleaner. No floor waxing is ever necessary and you don’t have to worry about pesky pet hair.
Durability:
Unlike wood, which can dent, laminate flooring is almost impervious to dents and scratches. Laminate flooring has a “wear layer” that protects the photographic layer underneath.
Appearance:
Laminate flooring faithfully reproduces the look of wood, stone, and other natural materials. Unlike real hardwood, which comes with many imperfect pieces that need to be discarded or re-engineered, there are no defects in laminate flooring.

Choices:
Far more choices of wood species than engineered wood. Red and white oak, maple, hickory, and pine are the most popular solids. You can also choose pre-finished or site-finished
Durability:
Excellent. Well-maintained solid hardwood will last for decades. They can also be sanded and stained several times making them look brand new. Heavy water is still an enemy of wood flooring.
Resale Value:
Excellent. Because they are real wood, durable and can be sanded and stained they can be advertised as such in real estate marketing materials, making them more attractive to buyers.

Grade:
Some retailers use a grading system to rate the quality of materials. This can refer to the size, shape, and thickness of the tile, as well as the condition of its surface.
Grade 1
refers to high quality, uniform materials.
Grade 2
consists of materials with minor defects, such as chips, scratches, or irregular surfaces.
Grade 3
materials have major flaws in size, shape, surface, or chipping, making them more appropriate only as accent pieces.
